Ok, Ok I know it has been a looong time for an update, some of you chomping at the bit for an update from this Here land of Ice. School has been fantastic, extremely difficult, and lots of fun all in one fell swoop. The days have now grown nice and long, almost 12 hours of daylight these days, and they are getting longer by about 7 minutes every day (midnight sun on its way!). We just finished a three week course on thermodynamics, energy conversion and storage, big test on Monday, so a studious weekend in the works. A lot has happened since the last report so a quick re-cap is in order for the last month or so.
Finally moved out of the hotel to a nice place called Kjalarsida. A great apartment, nicer than any that I have lived in back home.
Breaking in the new place in true Icelandic form
Have done some skiing, lots of fun, great little mountain, kind of reminds me of what Arapahoe Basin may have been like back in the day, and with no trees.
We have had some great times, the icelandic version of Mardi Gras was fun, similar to Haloween (the theme for us was caveman!) but held on the following Friday as everyone works during the week!
Wow, the future of the energy world (terrifying)

We also took another trip back to Myvatn with just about everyone this time and it was even better a second time around

the RES expedition looking back at Akureyri

And we had a party at our director's house, lots of fun, everyone in the house was in a conga line at one point, and keeping with tradition, nothing was broken (at least that is what we think!)
So, that is all I am going to add right now, I will work on being a lot better about updating this here blog for you all, but I can't make any promises. School is a challenge, but we are definitely having fun when we have the time. I hope everyone is having a great March, and I hope to hear from everyone soon.
Oh yeah, if you are interested we call all be seen at:
