Winter continued to hammer us for the rest of March, and we had some more amazing ski days at the resort, days that rivaled the amount and type of snow back home on even the deepest of days.
The weather cleared up for a few days and we took a snow-cat trip outside of a small village on the North-East side of Eyafjordur. On our way, we stopped at some old turf houses kept in great condition over the years, and checked out the area around them.
We killed some time in the town called Grenivik while waiting for the tour to begin. A nice quiet little fishing village, probably a nice place to live if you like peace and quiet.
We arrived at the top and looked around for a minute, took some photos and enjoyed being on the top of this glorious peak.
The group happy to be on top.
Little did I know I would be skiing in this area in six more weeks, but more on that later. After being dropped off at the top, we each had our own method of getting down, many chose sleds to get down, which looked like hilarous fun, a couple had snowboards and I chose my skis.
The sledding looked like fun, but a lot of snow and ice in the face, so I was glad to be above it all. Nonetheless, everyone had a blast on their way down.
We came to the bottom of a valley where the cat picked us up again and took us to the top of another smaller peak so that we could enjoy a little more vertical drop. We all made our way down the bottom and proceeded to have an epic snowball battle.
